People of Dorset – the holidays are coming! If you’re on the lookout for something to do outdoors with the family, then we’ve got five EGGCELLENT reasons to put a trip to The Walled Garden Moreton in your diary!
1 – Easter Trail
On every day from Saturday 28th March to Sunday 12th April, our signature garden trail is back with an Easter theme. Little egg-splorers can grab their map and find FIFTEEN quiz questions throughout the gardens, along with hunting down giant eggs – each with a letter to help solve the mystery word.
There’s a prize every time – you don’t need to get all the answers right. The trail is a brilliant way to learn Easter and nature facts while getting plenty of exercise around our gardens, which are beginning to bloom!

2 – Bug & Exotic Animal Experiences
Limited tickets available now! Our Bug and Exotic Animal Experiences return on the 1st, 3rd and 6th April. Our resident animal expert, Daisy, will introduce you to some of the smaller, more unusual residents of Animal Acre.
These creatures are not on public view, so this is a great opportunity for an up-close meet and greet with exotic bugs and reptiles – including bearded dragons, leopard geckos, cockroaches, millipedes, stick insects and more!
Tickets are available via here our Eventbrite page. All ages are welcome, but only those aged 5+ are permitted to handle the animals.

3 – Ride-on Tractors & Play Park
Last year, our ride-on tractors proved to be a big hit! They’re back for the 2026 season, and we’ve added a few more to the fleet! Suitable for ages 3–10 and free to use as part of your visit.
Nearby, our play park is set within Animal Acre, with space to climb, slide and swing. It’s the perfect pit stop after exploring the gardens – with takeaway refreshments available from the café too.

4 – Gardens & Animal Acre
The gardens are awakening! Our beautiful landscaped gardens and borders are coming to life for spring, full of colour and interest. Enjoy a calming walk as you take in the flowers, the peaceful flow of the stream, and our rose garden water feature.
There’s plenty to explore and lots of photo opportunities, including alongside our new sculptures – come and make some memories within our walls.
And yes, we know this is two reasons in one… but our animals in Animal Acre are always a favourite! You’ll meet our family of pygmy goats (with goat feed available), pigs, three different chicken families, rabbits, ferrets and guinea pigs – and you’ll definitely hear the geese before you see them!

5 – Café and New Menu
With the Spring weather, make the most of our outdoor seating while enjoying a cream tea, breakfast, or lunch from The Dovecote café. Or why not try our NEW Spring Menu, launching Saturday 28th March?
Can we tempt you with BBQ chicken wings, a veggie burrito, or the Coastal Cheeseburger? Or perhaps the return of our popular battered fish and chips?

The Dovecote Café is perfect whether you’re after a light bite or something more filling. Plus tea, coffee, cider, wine and ice cream – the café is ready to welcome you. Takeaway is available too.
Free parking is available, and dogs on leads are very welcome across the whole site – so you can make it a full day out for the whole family! Season tickets are available now. We are spoilt for choice with things to do in Dorset, and we hope you’ll stop by and visit our little corner of the county this Easter holiday. The Walled Garden & EMA teams look forward to welcoming you.
